On Tuesday, May 26th 2015 the Global Oncology Young Professional Alliance (GO-YP) hosted its inaugural meeting at Stanford University. Many Stanford community members attended the event ranging from undergraduate students to post-doctoral students and residents. Dr. Ami Bhatt, Co-Founder and Co-President of Global Oncology, Director of Global Oncology at the Stanford Center for Innovation and Global Health, and Assistant Professor of Medicine & Genetics at Stanford, discussed the landscape of cancer care world wide and gave an introduction to the opportunities to engage in GO projects and work in multidisciplinary teams to learn more about cancer, palliative care and global health.
