Tom Randall was a medical student and a resident in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Johns Hopkins. After residency he did a fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at the University of Pennsylvania. On completing fellowship he stayed at the University of Pennsylvania as Faculty in the Department of ObGyn and as Director of Gynecologic Oncology at Pennsylvania Hospital. Tom developed a clinical practice in minimally invasive gynecologic cancer surgery and was recognized for his commitment to teaching. In 2013 Tom moved to Boston and joined the Division of Gynecologic Oncology at MGH. He became active in efforts through the MGH Center for Global Health to build Cancer programs in Mbabara, Uganda and in Botswana. He is also a consultant with the NCI Center for Global Health in Cervical Cancer and HPV related malignancies. Lastly he will be working to build the Global Oncology Initiative at the Harvard Cancer Center – an effort open lines of communication, build synergy and explore best practices among Harvard faculty working in Global Oncology. Tom is especially interested in building capacity for cervical cancer treatment, including safe surgery and radiotherapy, in low resource areas.
